Choosing a 12V battery for a Land Rover or Range Rover depends on the vehicle's electrical specification, not just the model badge. Some vehicles have both a main and an auxiliary 12V battery. Send us your registration or VIN and a clear photograph of the existing battery label; we check the requirements before confirming an order.
Find the correct 12V battery
- Tell us your registration or VIN, model, year and engine if known.
- Send a clear photo of the battery label and, where accessible, its terminals. Tell us if you need the main or auxiliary battery.
- We check the reference, technology, dimensions, terminal layout and availability, then confirm the appropriate option and quotation before you pay.
Which batteries fit my Land Rover? Catalogue examples
These examples come from the Lucas hybrid and EV fitment guide. They are starting points, not a guarantee of fitment. The engine, build specification and battery position must be checked. Lucas references identify aftermarket batteries, not genuine Land Rover part numbers. Other variants can use different batteries.

Examples of Land Rover part references
We are preparing a range of genuine and equivalent 12V battery enquiries. Reference examples include LR094611: 70Ah / 760A AGM, LR091092: 80Ah / 800A AGM and 429123482: 90Ah / 850A AGM. These are reference examples, not an interchangeable set for every car. They do not guarantee stock or price; we confirm the current part and availability before any order.
Main, auxiliary, AGM and 48V: what is the difference?
- Main 12V battery: supplies the vehicle's low-voltage systems and, depending on the design, engine starting.
- Auxiliary 12V battery: an additional battery for a vehicle-specific function. It is not automatically interchangeable with the main battery.
- AGM, EFB and conventional flooded lead-acid: different technologies with different charging and fitment requirements. Follow the vehicle manufacturer's specification.
- 48V mild-hybrid battery: a separate system from the 12V batteries covered here. Neither should be confused with a high-voltage traction battery.
A label can show voltage (V), capacity (Ah), cold cranking rating (A or CCA), technology and part number. Size, terminal arrangement, retaining system and any vent connection also matter. Do not select a replacement on Ah alone.
How we check a 12V battery
We can assess a 12V battery and discuss the symptoms. Depending on its condition and whether the vehicle is present, checks may include visual inspection, voltage measurement, cranking and charging behaviour, and an appropriate battery test. A discharged battery may require charging before a meaningful result.
A low voltage reading does not on its own prove that a battery or converter has failed. For a workshop report, we review the test method, conditions and measured results.
Bring or send a battery for assessment
Contact us before bringing or sending any battery. Provide its chemistry, part number, condition and symptoms, with clear photographs. We will confirm whether we can accept it, the proposed assessment and the collection or return arrangements and charges before proceeding. Workshop handover is by appointment.
Batteries are subject to carrier and packaging restrictions. Do not post or dispatch one until a suitable carrier and packaging have been agreed for that battery. A damaged, leaking, swollen or hot battery needs separate assessment; do not dispatch it without instructions. Battery transport and return are quoted separately and are not included in a free module-return offer.
Replacement, fitting and setup
Once the correct specification is identified, ask us for a quotation for a new battery or discuss the next step. Some vehicles require battery-management registration or other manufacturer-specific setup. The scope and any fitting or delivery charge are confirmed before work or payment.
After a 48V DC/DC converter repair
Have the vehicle's 12V battery and charging system checked before refitting the converter. A replacement battery must match the vehicle specification. Alternatively, send a recent battery load-test report for technical review.
What to include in a test report
- Vehicle registration or VIN and test date.
- Battery part number, type, capacity and rated CCA.
- Tester make, model and identification, and calibration or verification details where applicable.
- Test method, conditions, measured results and the workshop's pass/fail assessment.
A resting voltage reading alone does not document a load test. The report must identify the method used; a conductance result must not be described as a load test if no load test was performed.

24-month JLR DC/DC repair cover with our genuine battery bundle
Battery supply is being prepared. This bundle will be available when we can confirm the battery order and supply; no battery order is currently being taken.
The standard repair warranty is 12 months. For an eligible JLR 48V DC/DC repair, buying the correctly matched genuine 12V battery from T-Tronic Automotive and having it fitted to the same vehicle extends the warranty on that repair to 24 months in total from the date we dispatch the repaired converter, with no mileage limit and no separate warranty fee. This is 24 months total, not an additional 24 months.
- The battery must be purchased from T-Tronic Automotive for the vehicle receiving the repaired converter. We confirm the correct part before accepting the order.
- The battery must be correctly fitted before the repaired converter is returned to service, following the vehicle manufacturer's procedures and any required battery-management setup.
- Keep our battery invoice, the vehicle registration or VIN and the fitting record, including its date and part number. We link these to your repair order and record the warranty end date.
- A battery bought elsewhere, or a load-test report alone, does not qualify for this commercial extension.
- The extension covers the same repaired circuit, workmanship and replaced components as the standard repair warranty. It does not extend the separate battery warranty or cover the whole vehicle, the 48V battery or unrelated faults.
- Where no qualifying battery bundle is purchased and fitted, the standard 12-month repair warranty remains. Existing agreed cover and statutory rights are unaffected.
The battery and charging-system checks described above remain part of correct diagnosis and installation; purchasing a new battery does not remove other vehicle-side faults. This offer applies to the repair service, not diagnostic assessment, cloning or exchange-only orders.
