Testing & Verification

How we test automotive electronic modules
Every unit sent to T-Tronic Lab is checked before and after repair using the tests available for that module type. We only describe a function as tested when our test actually covers it, and every report states the limits of the bench test.
Test levels
- Level 1 – Power and communication: identification, supply voltage, current draw, communication and stored fault codes.
- Level 2 – Inputs and outputs: response of outputs and inputs that can be operated on the bench, for example lamps, relays, gauges and actuators.
- Level 3 – Functional simulation: repeatable simulation of selected signals for supported module families.
- Level 4 – Real load and safety functions: hydraulic pressure, steering torque or road behaviour. These can only be confirmed in the vehicle or on dedicated test rigs and are not claimed unless such a test was carried out.
Before and after repair
We record the condition of the unit on arrival and repeat the same checks after the repair, so results can be compared directly.
Your test report
Each report includes the unit details, the checks carried out, a result for each check (PASS, FAIL or PARTIAL), photos where relevant and anything that must be verified after fitting, such as coding or adaptation.
Why this matters
A garage fitting a repaired unit needs to know exactly what has been checked. A clear report saves diagnostic time and avoids replacing parts that are not faulty.
Assessment price and repair quotation
Bench test and written repair quote: £45 per module (£80 for the JLR 48V DC/DC converter). The fee is deducted from the repair if you approve it. If you decline, no fault is found or the unit cannot be repaired, we return the unit with the report. Please contact us to confirm collection and return delivery charges before ordering. No repair starts without your approval. See how it works.
The report lists what was actually tested; it does not promise complete vehicle-level testing. Read the assessment and repair process.
