Assessment, repair and delivery: your questions answered

What does the £45 fee cover?

The agreed diagnostic assessment of one module, a written report and a repair quotation where repair is possible. The report states the findings, checks completed, test limitations and next steps. Please contact us to confirm collection and return delivery charges before ordering. It is not the price of a repair.

Is asking for a quotation free?

An initial enquiry is free and does not authorise paid work. The £45 fee applies to the agreed bench assessment. We confirm support for your module, the test scope and transport costs before you pay or send it.

How much will the repair cost?

We quote individually after assessment. The price depends on the confirmed fault, damage, parts and work required. Your quotation states the repair scope, verification, warranty, expected timing, transport and full amount payable. We wait for your approval before starting.

Is the £45 deducted if I go ahead?

Bench test and written repair quote: £45 per module (£80 for the JLR 48V DC/DC converter). The fee is deducted from the repair if you approve it. If you decline, no fault is found or the unit cannot be repaired, we return the unit with the report. Please contact us to confirm collection and return delivery charges before ordering. What if I decline, no fault is found or the unit cannot be repaired?

The completed assessment costs £45. Please contact us to confirm any transport charges before ordering. You receive the report and your unit back. Any unused repair advance is refunded to the original payment method. We do not charge for an agreed assessment we could not provide; statutory rights are unaffected.

Can the price change after I accept?

If new findings change the scope or price, we stop and ask you to approve a revised quotation before additional chargeable work. You can decline. We do not automatically charge your card for extras.

How do I pay?

Once the service and transport are agreed, we provide a secure store payment link. Repair payments show the accepted total, the £45 assessment credit and the remaining balance. An enquiry through the catalogue does not create a paid repair order.

How much is collection or return delivery?

Transport arrangements depend on the packed weight, dimensions, postcode and required carrier cover. Please contact us to confirm collection and return delivery charges before ordering. You can arrange your own inward delivery after we confirm the job.

Can every function be tested on the bench?

No. We confirm the available tests for your module before accepting the assessment. The report lists only tests actually performed and their limitations. A bench test cannot reproduce every vehicle condition; vehicle checks, coding or calibration may still be needed.

Do you repair my own module?

Where agreed and technically possible, we repair and return your original module, preserving its data where possible. A replacement, exchange unit or donor module requires a separate agreement.

Can I cancel?

Contact us with your job or order reference. Cancelling before assessment begins is not subject to an automatic £45 fee. Consumer cancellation rights apply, including the conditions for starting work during the 14-day cancellation period. See How It Works and the refund policy.

Is there a warranty?

Repairs carry the warranty described in our Warranty Terms and your accepted quotation. The quotation and report identify the repaired fault and scope. A diagnostic assessment is not a warranty that every function in the vehicle will work. Your statutory rights are unaffected.
