Service overview

Professional repair, testing and return.

What you are buying: bench repair of your own Audi or Volkswagen front ADAS camera – the windscreen camera behind the mirror (DPC camera, J852) that feeds lane assist, adaptive cruise control, traffic sign recognition and light assist. Your original camera is repaired, tested and returned with its coding intact.

Typical symptoms

  • Lane assist, ACC, Front Assist or traffic sign recognition unavailable
  • “Driver assistance systems: malfunction” or “ACC not available” in the instrument cluster
  • Fault returns straight after clearing, often after a cold start
  • Image processing control unit reports no camera or no video signal

Fault codes we see on these cameras

C110702 – Video line for image processing: signal fault (often shown in VCDS as “No camera found on startup”, older format 0161) · C110400 – Camera: malfunction · C110800 – Function restricted due to missing image information · U111200 – Function restricted due to implausible message · B200000 – Control unit faulty.

Supported part numbers

4G0907217, 4G0907217A, 4H0907217, 4H0907217A, 4H0907217F, 7P6907217A, 7P6907217B, 8K0907217B. Fitted to Audi A6 / A7 (4G), Audi A8 (4H) and VW Touareg (7P), among others – the part number on your camera label decides, so send us a photo of it first.

Check before you send it

  • The same C110702 code can come from the LVDS video cable between the camera (J852) and the image processing control unit (J851, for example 4G0907107 or 7P6907107), or from J851 itself. Check the cable and connectors for damage first.
  • Read and save the fault codes, with freeze frame, and include them with the order.
  • Remove the camera with the ignition off and pack it in an anti-static bag. Do not open the housing.

What we do on the bench

  1. Intake – photos, label, housing, lens and connector condition, signs of previous repair.
  2. Test – power-up and communication check, fault confirmed before any work.
  3. Repair – the confirmed fault is repaired on the camera board.
  4. Final test and report – the camera is powered and checked again, and you get a written report of what was found, what was done and the limits of the bench test.

Price and payment

Every camera is different, so the final price depends on what we find. Not sure what is wrong? Choose the bench test (£45, deducted from the repair if you go ahead). Already know the fault? Order the repair at the standard price. If the camera needs more work, we send you a written quote for the difference and wait for your approval before doing it.

Level 1 – Standard repair £330 The common C110702 / no-camera fault, confirmed on the bench.
Level 2 – Extended repair £420 Cameras with previous repair attempts, heat damage or several failed circuits.
Level 3 – Advanced repair Quoted Severe board damage, image sensor or lens damage.

Every level includes the test, final check, report and tracked UK return. If the camera cannot be repaired, you are refunded the price less the £45 diagnostic assessment and the camera comes back with the report. No VAT added – we are not VAT registered. Prices and terms · 12-month warranty.

After fitting

We aim to preserve the original coding; any coding or adaptation requirement is confirmed in the report. Because the camera has been removed from the windscreen, check whether your vehicle requires a camera calibration (static or dynamic) under the manufacturer's procedure – your garage or an ADAS calibration centre can do this. Then clear the fault memory and test the assistance systems on the road.

How to order

  1. Order the repair and fill in the camera details – part number, registration and fault codes.
  2. Post the camera using our packing instructions, or drop it at the lab in Rainworth by appointment.
  3. We test, repair and return it with the report – turnaround is confirmed when the camera arrives.

Questions customers ask

What are the symptoms of a faulty ADAS front camera on Audi or VW?
Lane assist, adaptive cruise control or Front Assist switched off with a driver assistance warning, a message that the camera has no view or is unavailable, and fault codes such as C110702 that return after clearing. A dirty windscreen, wrong calibration or a wiring fault can give similar messages, so we test the camera on the bench first.
Do I need a new camera, or can mine be repaired?
Often the original camera can be repaired. A new camera is expensive and still needs coding and calibration. We test your camera, send a written report and a fixed price. If it cannot be repaired, you pay only the test fee.
Does the camera need calibration after repair?
Usually yes. Once a front camera is removed and refitted, most cars need a static or dynamic ADAS calibration in the car. Calibration is done by your garage or a calibration centre with the car present – we repair and test the camera unit itself.
Which cameras do you repair?
Audi and VW front cameras such as 4G0907217, 4H0907217, 8K0907217 and 7P6907217 variants (Audi A6/A7 C7, A8 D4, VW Touareg 7P). We also bench-check cameras from Porsche, Mercedes-Benz (MPC2), Honda and Volvo FH/FM trucks – send the part number first.
How much does ADAS camera repair cost?
Bench test and written report £45, deducted from the repair. Camera repair from £295 with tracked UK return included.
