Service overview

Professional repair, testing and return.

The problem

The rotary gear selector on the Jaguar XE and XF (2015–2020) is a common failure. The dial does not rise when you start the car, rises but will not turn, or the car stays locked in P, R, N or D. You may also be unable to change drive mode. The usual stored code is P176C-11 – Transmission range selector lock control.

Typical symptoms

  • Dial does not rise or does not drop back down
  • Dial rises but will not rotate
  • Car stuck in Park, Drive, Neutral or Reverse
  • Drive mode cannot be selected or changed
  • Fault code P176C-11 in the transmission / selector module

Part numbers we repair

Rotary gear selector modules in the 7E453 family, including: EK52-7E453-AA / AB / AC · BH42-7E453-AE / AH / AJ · GK52-7E453-AB · EH22-7E453-AB · GJ32-7E453-AB · EJ32-7E453-CA / CB · LR068891. The same number can be used on more than one model, so please send a clear photo of the label on your unit through messages before posting – we confirm compatibility first.

What we do in the lab

Your module is booked in under a TTR job number, inspected and tested on the bench, and you receive a clear report of what we found. After the repair the unit is function-tested again before it is returned.

Your own module keeps its coding, so it goes back in as plug and play – no programming needed. Removal: disconnect the battery, remove the centre console trim and unplug the selector.

Price and terms

Fixed repair price. If we find damage beyond a standard repair (for example liquid damage or previous repair attempts) we send you a written quote and wait for your approval. If the unit cannot be repaired you are refunded the price less a £45 diagnostic assessment and the unit comes back with a report. Tracked UK return included. 12-month warranty on the repair. No VAT added – we are not VAT registered.
