Module Repair for Vehicle Owners

Module repair for vehicle owners
A warning light, a car that will not start or a gearbox stuck in limp mode often ends with a dealer quote for a new control unit, plus coding. In many cases the original unit can be repaired instead. You send it to us by post, we test it on the bench, repair the faulty circuit and send it back with a written result.
Is the module really the cause?
Fault codes point to a system, not always to a failed part. Before you remove anything, have the fault codes read and the wiring, fuses and battery checked. If you are still not sure, a bench assessment can help identify an internal fault before you decide on repair or replacement. We explain the test limits.
How to find your repair
- Search by the part number printed on the module label, for example K8D2-14B227-AM
- Search by fault code, for example P0A94
- Or choose your vehicle make and repair category on the home page
Cannot find it? Send a repair request with the part number, vehicle and symptoms and we will reply before you post anything.
What it costs
Bench test and written repair quote: £45 per module (£80 for the JLR 48V DC/DC converter). The fee is deducted from the repair if you approve it. If you decline, no fault is found or the unit cannot be repaired, you pay only the test fee and we return the unit with the report – tracked UK return is included. No repair starts without your approval. See how it works.
You receive a report and itemised repair quotation before deciding. Approved services are paid through a secure store payment link. See how it works.
Removing and refitting the unit
Have a competent technician follow the vehicle manufacturer's isolation and removal procedures, and keep the unit dry and protected from static. Many owners ask their local garage to remove and refit it. Because you get your own unit back, it normally keeps its coding; some systems need a basic setting or calibration after refitting, and this is stated on the repair page.
Sending it
Pack it using our packing instructions and send it with tracking, or book our courier collection. Use your order or TTR reference to request a progress update.
